Before you call, know which job you have
HVAC covers several different trades, and the right contractor depends on which one you need. Heating work means furnaces, boilers, radiators and controls. Cooling means central AC, mini-splits and window units. Replacement is a bigger project than either, and seasonal tune-ups are cheaper when booked before the weather turns. Emergencies are the exception: a no-heat call in winter or a no-cool call in a heatwave gets priced as urgent work, so say so when you ring. Knowing which of these you are asking about makes the first phone call much shorter.
