Review provenance and anti-manipulation rules

Review Policy

Reviews and ratings can help homeowners, but they can also be manipulated or misunderstood. Servhom treats review data as source-specific context, not as a hidden blended truth score.

Current Review Approach

  • Ratings and review counts should be displayed with source labels when used.
  • Servhom should not blend different third-party ratings into one unsupported combined rating.
  • Review or rating schema should only be used when the visible page and data rights support it.

Future First-Party Reviews

If Servhom accepts first-party reviews, the system should require anti-spam checks, conflict-of-interest controls, moderation rules, and a clear process for businesses to flag disputed reviews.

Manipulation Is Not Allowed

  • Businesses may not submit fake reviews, incentivized undisclosed reviews, or reviews on behalf of customers.
  • Users may not submit reviews for jobs they did not experience.
  • Servhom may remove, reject, or de-emphasize review signals that appear fraudulent, abusive, irrelevant, or unsupported.
